Mountains of Imagination
The Grand Tetons in Wyoming are known as the mountains of imagination which Dad definitely took advantage of in his photos. He always seemed to frame his images perfectly to give you just the right perspective.

Dad always made the most of his trips to Utah, catching all the beauty on camera that the state has to offer. This is the Capitol Reef – at Capitol Reef National Park in Utah’s south central desert. It’s called capitol because of the white domes of Navajo sandstone that resemble capitol building domes.
Dad made several trips over the years to Badlands National Park in South Dakota with his favorite photography tour group. Each time he came home with images that seemed otherworldly.
Dad caught majestic Mount Rainier in the reflection of a lodge at the national park in Washington state. He was on a trip with LightChase Photography tours – one of many he went on with this group.
Extra good luck for Dad when he caught this double rainbow over Death Valley National Park in California.
Glacier National Park in Montana was the setting for this spectacular sunset.
Dad was not a big hiking fan, but the trek out to Mesa Arch at Canyonlands National Park in Utah was worth it to get this gorgeous shot.
This photo is a favorite of Jen and I. It’s of the travertine terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. It just looks so other worldly.
This photo gets most of the oohs and aahs from Dad’s fans. It’s in Yosemite National Park in California.
